COLUMBIA, Mo. — In a guarantee game, Missouri made ‘em jump like Rod Strickland.
Mizzou men’s basketball picked up a dominant 88-61 buy-game victory on Saturday over Long Island — coached by Strickland, a point guard in his playing days who was name-dropped in a Wu-Tang Clan bar.
The Tigers put that reference — and the Sharks’ defense — in motion, scoring breezily at the rim and from beyond the 3-point line. MU made half of its 28 3-point attempts and shot 56.4% from the field.
Forward Trent Pierce, who came off the bench, was the most productive Missouri player.
