How Mizzou coaches spent their bye weeks: Family time, recruiting, self-scouting

COLUMBIA, Mo. — There isn’t a particularly bad time for a bye week, and Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz was excited for his.

With the Tigers 4-0 and idle over the weekend, he had a Saturday free to do what most football enjoyers would want to do if they didn’t have the obligation to coach in a high-pressure game.

“I had my own plans in my mind,” Drinkwitz said on “The Paul Finebaum Show” ahead of the bye. “I was going to sleep in ... and then I was going to watch football all day.”

Before getting too comfortable with an armchair-centric agenda, he did what any good football coach does and ran it by the DOFO.
