College football is a mess. You know, in a fun way!
Part of the appeal of college sports is that you get a reduced certainty factor that comes hand-in-hand with the lower quality. There’s a reason NBA and NFL games can feel a bit mechanical at times: Everyone involved is so damn good at their jobs that it takes fiddling around on the small margins to win big.
In college football? Hell, get yourself the right QB and you could be the next indie darling regardless of whether or not your team is any good. Put the right group of guys together, keep them around for 2 or 3 years and watch yourself blow up into the College Football Playoff conversation.
