COLUMBIA, Mo. — You might have heard of Jake Garcia.
Maybe you saw him on Netflix’s “Titletown High,” a reality show about the Valdosta High School football team in Georgia. He played a single game there in 2020 — having transferred from his Los Angeles-area hometown and a canceled football season — before he was ruled ineligible.
Maybe you heard about him after the Netflix experience, when he transferred to Grayson High School and won a state championship in Georgia’s largest class, earning a spot in the Under Armour All-America Game.
You might have heard that Garcia’s parents legally separated to comply with Georgia transfer eligibility rules, allowing their son to complete his high school career.
