COLUMBIA, Mo. — Is it time to flip the script on a core assumption about this year’s Missouri men’s basketball team?
Throughout Dennis Gates’ tenure at Mizzou — now about halfway through its third season — the Tigers have been consistently poor at rebounding. They’d leave second-chance points on the table and concede a frustrating number of offensive boards.
That just might be changing.
Through three games of Southeastern Conference play, MU (13-3, 2-1) is one of the league’s best rebounding teams. Depending on the stat, it’s possible to argue that Missouri is actually the SEC’s best on the boards.
