COLUMBIA, MO. • When he was 16 years old, Tanner Houck made his mom promise they’d get matching tattoos when he turned 18. Two years later, he didn’t forget.
“She told me, ‘I’m not putting anything dumb on my body,’” Houck recalled.
Tanner and Jennifer settled on four-leaf clovers on the top of their left wrists.
“Because I’m lucky to have my mom,” said Houck, Mizzou’s latest pitching prodigy, a 6-foot-5, 202-pound wunderkind with the most valuable right arm on campus.
“Every time I look at it, I think of her,” he said.
