COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Frankie Wurtz hit three 3-pointers and finished with 16 points to help Green Bay beat No. 16 Missouri 56-49 on Friday night.
It was the highest ranked opponent Green Bay has ever beaten on the road. The Phoenix, who lost to No. 15 DePaul in Chicago last Friday, beat No. 24 Arizona State and No. 23 Marquette last season.
Amber Smith's layup gave Missouri (2-1) a one-point lead at the break and Sophie Cunningham made two free throws to give the Tigers their biggest lead at 30-22 with six minutes left in the third quarter.
