For one Saturday afternoon all was well with Missouri basketball.
The Tigers defeated SEC rival Arkansas 83-79 in overtime in Columbia. A lively crowd of 11,439 turned out on “Rally for Rhyan” day. Fans raised money for pediatric cancer research in the name of inspirational survivor Rhyan Loos, daughter of former assistant coach Brad Loos.
If only every game day at Mizzou could be like this. It’s been years since basketball has really mattered in Boone County — and as we’re seeing again this season, regaining that relevance won’t be easy.
It will take sustained success to restore the roar.
