COLUMBIA, MO. • No matter the outcome Saturday night, Cuonzo Martin wasn’t going to enjoy either beating or losing to close friend Linc Darner, coach of the Green Bay Phoenix and his former college teammate at Purdue.

But Martin’s Tigers gave him plenty to enjoy between the opening tipoff and final buzzer in a 100-77 victory at Mizzou Arena, especially Jordan Geist. The backup point guard scored a career-high 28 points in just 23 minutes, the most points scored by any Missouri player in a game this season.

Geist, a 28.6 percent 3-point shooter last season, his first year at Mizzou since transferring from junior college, continued to show off his progress from the perimeter, making 5 of 8 3s.
