Game day arrives for Mizzou's rookie head coach

COLUMBIA, MO. • For the first time since the 2002 Missouri high school Class 6 semifinals, Barry Odom straps on the headset and plays the role of head coach in a game Saturday. He hopes he knows how to work the thing.

“I just got to remember to switch over the headsets to offense,” said Missouri’s rookie head coach, who’s spent the last seven years coaching defense. “You’ve got offense on one side, defense on the other. I’ve got to remember how to get to the offensive side. That was a challenge in our scrimmages. I’ve been working on that after hours.
