Curtis Brown, a standout running back at St. Charles High and the University of Missouri in the 1970s who played seven seasons in the NFL, died Thursday in St. Louis.
Brown was 60. He was being treated for "football-related dementia" and suffered a heart attack July 25, according to a story on the KSDK-TV website by Art Holliday, an anchor and reporter for Channel 5 who was a high school teammate of Brown.
An All-State player at St. Charles, Brown was part of an in-state run of standout backs at Mizzou in the mid- to late 1970s that included future NFL players Tony Galbreath (Fulton, Mo.
