COLUMBIA, Mo. — College football’s transfer portal and postseason opt-out trend will surely deplete rosters as teams prepare for bowl games in the coming weeks. But with more than 40 bowls to play, starting with Friday’s Bahamas Bowl, the show must go on, which means fresh opportunities for younger backup players to fill those voids.
Missouri is no exception. As of Tuesday, three Mizzou seniors had announced plans to sit out the Gasparilla Bowl against Wake Forest while turning their focus to the NFL draft: defensive ends Isaiah McGuire and D.J. Coleman and safety Martez Manuel.
