Ex-Mizzou player says Title IX office cleared him in three of four allegations

Former Missouri basketball player Terrence Phillips was cleared in three of the four complaints women made against him to the school’s Title IX office, he said in a lengthy statement posted Thursday on Twitter. Phillips said a hearing panel found him responsible for “intimate partner violence,” which is a violation of the University of Missouri System’s policy on Sex Discrimination, Sexual Harassment and Sexual Misconduct in Education. Phillips said he was found not responsible for allegations of “sexual misconduct, rape, exploitation and stalking.” The university is prohibited from commenting on Title IX cases. The Title IX office investigates issues of sex discrimination and sexual violence on campus.
