COLUMBIA, MO. • Missouri defensive lineman Jordan Elliott loved the recruiting process so much he committed to not one, not two, not three, but four schools as a high school prospect.
First, the Houston native picked Baylor. Then Houston. Then Michigan. Finally, Texas. After all the indecision, the nation’s 15th-rated defensive tackle became one of the Longhorns’ top recruits in 2016.
Looking back now, Elliott seems slightly embarrassed by his binge of oral pledges. For months he tested the term “commitment” to its limit with each change of heart.
“I was young,” he said after Wednesday’s practice in the Devine Pavilion.
