'Everything is different:' Mizzou players adjust to unprecedented times

COLUMBIA, Mo. — For five months, the coronavirus pandemic has leveled everyone’s definition of daily routines. College football players, disciples of habit and structure, are no different. For the teams fortunate to still have a season on the schedule this fall, preseason practices start soon, which means old routines merge with new habits and protocols.

For the Missouri Tigers, still adjusting to new coach Eliah Drinkwitz and his new staff, new systems, new terminologies, the pandemic redefined an offseason of transition.

“Nothing that we know as normal is normal,” linebacker Jamal Brooks said on a Zoom video conference with reporters Thursday.
