Delaware State, a Football Championship Subdivision team from the MEAC, might be the most overmatched team to visit Faurot Field — ever. The Hornets (0-2) were 1-10 last year and have only played one power conference FBS team in its history since 1924: A 63-6 loss at Michigan in 2009.
Delaware State is 3-10 all-time against current Football Bowl Subdivision teams, with the only wins coming against Connecticut in 1985 and 1986 and Akron in 1987. Led by second-year coach Kenny Carter, the Hornets lost to Delaware 56-14 in their opener and fell 34-20 to Monmouth last week.
