COLUMBIA, Mo. — Eight days after firing football coach Barry Odom, Missouri has his replacement: Appalachian State’s Eliah Drinkwitz. Missouri and Drinkwitz agreed to terms for the 36-year-old to become the Tigers’ next head coach on Sunday, pending approval by the UM System Board of Curators, a university source confirmed Sunday night.
The Board is expected to announce a public meeting Monday morning to formally approve the contract. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
After Mizzou officials flew to North Carolina on Saturday to interview Drinkwitz, the Tigers had familiar competition for the Mountaineers coach, according to multiple reports.
