After waiting for nearly five hours through the entire first round, Drew Lock finally heard his name called at the NFL draft Friday.
The Denver Broncos selected the former Missouri quarterback with the 10th pick of the second round, the 42nd overall.
Lock left Mizzou as one of the most prolific offensive players in team history, finishing with 12,193 passing yards and 99 touchdowns. Both totals rank second only to former quarterback Chase Daniel, who’s about to enter his 11th season in the NFL after going undrafted in 2009. As a freshman, Lock became the Tigers’ starter five games into 2015, which turned out to be Gary Pinkel’s final season on the sideline, and then started all 38 games for the Tigers under Barry Odom the last three years.
