Dove flies under the radar and into pivotal role for Mizzou

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Two years ago Missouri needed to rebuild its collection of wide receivers and loaded up with six on national signing day. Six became five when one prospect failed to qualify academically, putting Barry Odom’s staff back on the road in search of the rare summertime signee.

There was an intriguing prospect at Texas powerhouse Denton-Ryan High School. Chritauskie Dove had fielded some Power Five interest in the fall, but the offers didn’t last. By the summer, Dove had improved his grades and settled on an another path, hoping a season at Tyler, Texas, Junior College would open doors to FBS programs the following year.
