ST. CHARLES • A judge has continued until Jan. 25 the court case against Sheldon Richardson, the pro football star who faces charges stemming from a high-speed, late-night road race in O'Fallon, Mo., last July.
Richardson, a St. Louis native and former University of Missouri player who now is with the New York Jets, is charged with resisting arrest and various traffic violations.
The continuance, the third in the case, was issued Monday by St. Charles County Associate Circuit Judge Norman Steimel.
According to court records, Richardson, of O'Fallon, was racing another car on Highway 40 (Interstate 64) and was clocked by police as driving up to 143 mph in his 2014 Bentley Silver Spur.
