COLUMBIA, Mo. • How hungry is Corey Tate to revive the basketball program at his alma mater?
"I'm in starvation mode," he said.
Missouri basketball coach Kim Anderson made it official Wednesday: Tate, a former Tigers player with strong ties to the St. Louis recruiting scene, will join the staff as an assistant coach next month. Several outlets, including the Post-Dispatch, reported last week that Tate had agreed to join Anderson's staff at his alma mater.
Tate, 40, has spent the last 11 years as head coach at Mineral Area College, a two-year community college in Park Hills, Mo.
