COLUMBIA, Mo. • Missouri’s Wes Clark isn’t sure how many times he’s dunked in a college game.
“I want to recall, what, two? Maybe three?” he said Saturday.
“I don’t recall a whole lot,” Mizzou coach Kim Anderson quipped.
The safe answer is at least one.
Clark’s second-half one-handed slam Saturday gave the 6-foot guard 22 points against Savannah State, a punctuation mark for another career day for the junior in another Mizzou blowout. The Tigers closed nonconference play with an 81-50 victory over the visitors from Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
With the Tigers in front by 30 points, Anderson pulled Clark shortly after his dunk so he could watch the final 12:54 from the bench and save energy for the start of Southeastern Conference action.
