COLUMBIA, MO. • Missouri landed some much-needed help in the backcourt for next year and beyond. Xavier Pinson, a three-star point guard from Simeon Career Academy in Chicago, announced his verbal commitment to Missouri on Monday, choosing the Tigers over Georgetown and Wisconsin.
Pinson, rated the nation’s No. 34 point guard by Rivals.com, pulled on a gold Mizzou cap at an announcement ceremony Monday night at Simeon, closing what's been a rapidly moving recruiting relationship between Pinson and Mizzou. In October, Pinson committed to Kent State over Drake then dropped his pledge within a week.
