COLUMBIA, MO. • Missouri has a new basketball coach. That much we know.
We know Cuonzo Martin’s record as a head coach at Missouri State, Tennessee and Cal: 186-121 overall and 86-72 in the Missouri Valley, SEC and Pac-12.
We know he’s guided two of his nine teams to the NCAA Tournament: Tennessee in 2014 and Cal in 2016.
But there’s plenty to explore and learn about Mizzou’s 45-year-old head coach who’s taking over a program that’s won just 28 percent of its games the last three seasons. We’ll take a closer look at Martin’s background over the next week or so, starting with his track record as a recruiter at Cal, where he coached the last three seasons.
