Forget the NCAA Tournament, the annual three-week festival for college basketball fans that this year begins with play-in games March 19-20 before the full bracket swings into action March 21.
There will be 48 games played over that elongated opening weekend (Thursday-Sunday), filling sportsbooks and drawing many eyeballs to TV screens and other devices showing the games.
But in reality, the undercard next week offers much more action for the betting crowd. Conference tournament competition will be front and center as more than twice as many contests will be played then as there will be on the NCAA event’s opening weekend.
