Business as usual for Mizzou defensive line

COLUMBIA, MO. • Don’t feel sorry for Jackie Shipp.

Sure, Missouri’s new defensive line coach lost two former starters the day before preseason camp began, but when he walked into his team meeting room the next day he was surrounded by more talent than most coaches could imagine.

“That normally doesn’t happen in college football anymore,” Missouri defensive coordinator DeMontie Cross said. “It’s just a testament to what’s been built here.”

Defensive end Walter Brady, a freshman All-American last year, was dismissed for breaking team rules, and defensive tackle Harold Brantley, a starter in 2014 who sat out last year with injuries, is gone for academic reasons.
