HOOVER, Ala. • Mississippi State’s Dak Prescott wears the price of fame on his right eye, an inch-long scar that became an unfortunate souvenir from his spring break in Panama City, Fla., where several men attacked the quarterback and some teammates on a parking lot.
A video of the incident went viral in March, showing the bloodied senior get punched in the head from behind.
Prescott was in better spirits Tuesday at Southeastern Conference media days, where he made the interview rounds as one of the league’s most accomplished offensive players. Prescott, a fifth-year senior who passed on this year’s NFL draft, is the most decorated returning quarterback in a conference that has more open QB competitions than established stars at the position.
