COLUMBIA, Mo. — Theo Wease Jr. has been thinking about this game.
The Missouri wide receiver will face his former team when the Tigers (6-2 overall, 2-2 Southeastern Conference) host Oklahoma (5-4, 1-4) at 6:45 p.m. Saturday.
The game will be a rekindling of a matchup dating back to 1902. MU and OU have played 96 times previously, though the Sooners have dominated the all-time series: Mizzou’s record is 24-67-5 against Oklahoma.
That lopsidedness leads some to contest the use of “rivalry” in describing the return of the Tigers and Sooners playing each other following their migrations to the SEC some 12 years apart.
