COLUMBIA, Mo. — Marcus Denmon called ballgame. He also, apparently, called the shots.
With 2:25 left on the game clock the last time Kansas’ men’s basketball team visited Mizzou Arena, Missouri trailed the Jayhawks by eight points in the crucial Big 12 matchup. Denmon, who had already burned KU for 20 points, noticed the Jayhawks were going with Kansas native Conner Teahan to guard him.
That’s when the MU guard had an order for his bench.
“‘Get me the ball,’” then-Missouri assistant Tim Fuller remembers Denmon shouting.
“‘Coach, I’ve got Teahan on me. Coach, I’ve got Teahan on me,’” he repeated, “‘Get me the ball.
