Election night?
Nope.
We’re talking, of course, about the debut of this year’s College Football Playoff rankings, which somewhat hilariously got scheduled to go head-to-head with a presidential election when the rankings are debuted with a newly expanded 12-team playoff bracket looming.
The timing can be questioned, but waiting this deep into the season before rolling out the only poll that really matters anymore is wise — especially when you look at the chaos that could be on deck for playoff hopefuls this weekend. A college season that’s made “parity” its primary buzzword has the chance to get even messier with the latest round of games.
