BenFred: Mizzou's Bryant will be the center of attention, but big season hinges on stars emerging around him

Kelly Bryant has fun. Get used to it. Whether it’s dancing on the field between drills or deciding to leave his helmet on for post-practice interviews, the always-on and sometimes-goofy energy that radiates from Missouri’s graduate transfer quarterback has become contagious for Barry Odom’s football team.

“He likes ball,” Odom said after fall camp’s first practice Friday. “He enjoys playing quarterback. He understands what goes into that. He dances a little. But when it’s time to go, he’s locked in. They follow him.”

It was the quarterback’s dual-threat skills, big-game experience and remarkable record as a Clemson starter (16-2) that made him one of the off-season’s most coveted transfers.
