COLUMBIA, Mo. — One good way to look silly is to attempt to draw significant conclusions from a game as lopsided as Mizzou’s 59-28 romp over FCS check-receiver Southeast Missouri State.
When you pay an opponent $550,000 to travel for a thumping, you are supposed to start fast, build a big lead and then hand over things to the second and third-teamers as soon as possible.
And that’s exactly what the Tigers did here Saturday afternoon.
Easy mission accomplished. Head coach Eli Drinkwitz and his players took care of business. Nothing more. Nothing less. But before the page flips to next weekend’s big trip to Boston College, the glorified scrimmage here Saturday did make at least one thing clear.
