BenFred: How can Mizzou defense expect to keep up with Georgia?

The Tigers basically asked their senior quarterback to switch to defense against Purdue on Saturday night, and he managed better than most members of the secondary in the final moments of a 40-37 win. Or should the blame fall on the shoulders of defensive linemen who generated a lackluster pass rush? There's plenty to go around.

Lock did his best to bleed the clock and keep his offense on the field late Saturday night. Holding the ball was the Tigers' best defense, because a defense that had spent the past two weeks inspiring confidence had completely derailed. Lock was left purposefully passing on a chance to pursue another touchdown because it made more sense to set up a game-winning field goal rather than risk giving the ball back to Purdue with a single second on the clock.
