COLUMBIA, Mo. — Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz said he was excited to return to the field after halftime Friday.
Despite trailing Arkansas 10-6 in Fayetteville, Missouri had outgained the Razorbacks in total yardage in the first half and already forced an Arkansas turnover. It felt like MU’s defense had control.
In Arkansas’ locker room, the narrative was different. Razorbacks coach Sam Pittman was frustrated. He didn’t think the his team was playing with enough energy.
In the second half, Arkansas came out aggressive and that story quickly changed.
After a quick three-and-out on its first drive of the third quarter, Arkansas (8-4, 4-4 Southeastern Conference) scored on four consecutive second-half possessions, with help from explosive plays, to cruise to a 34-17 win over Missouri (6-6, 3-5 SEC).
