COLUMBIA, Mo. • Leketor Member-Meneh didn’t believe it when she heard the news. The Hearnes Center — Missouri volleyball’s court and the team’s home — was under water.
“It was about to be ‘Casa de Hearnes’ in there,” said Member-Meneh, a sophomore outside hitter from St. Louis and Lutheran South High. “And now, well, it’s not. But it’s OK. Everything happens for a reason, so maybe we needed some practice in places that we don’t play normally, to prepare us for away games, playing on the road.”
On Saturday, a water main break flooded half of the Hearnes Center court and caused significant damage.
