COLUMBIA, MO. • Kim Anderson borrowed a trick from his mentor for Friday’s Halloween and Hoops preseason scrimmage at Mizzou Arena. After his Missouri basketball players were introduced one by one, the lights dimmed and Anderson climbed out of a casket set up near midcourt.
With his team picked to finish last in the Southeastern Conference, Anderson proved he hasn’t lost his sense of humor, even after nine- and 10-win seasons and consecutive last-place finishes in the SEC.
“Many other have buried us,” Anderson told the crowd after unspooling his 6-7 frame out of the casket.
