COLUMBIA, MO. • Kim Anderson tried a unique motivational ploy after Missouri’s 10-point loss to North Carolina Central last Monday. For the week of practice leading up to Saturday’s game against Western Kentucky, he took away the Tigers’ practice gear, their cushy chairs in the locker room and held the team’s student managers out of practice, which means the players were responsible for shagging rebounds and mopping sweat off the court.
Without their fancy Nike practice clothes, the Tigers wore plain white cotton T-shirts and black cotton shirts purchased at a local department store.
