Ahead by 12 with 1:27 to play, Mizzou blows lead — then recovers in OT for fourth straight win

COLUMBIA, MO. • Missouri and Mississippi State put the rally in “Rally for Rhyan” day at Mizzou Arena.

First, the visiting Bulldogs stormed back from a 12-point deficit in the final two minutes of regulation to force overtime.

Then, in the extra session, the Tigers shook off a five-point deficit to secure a heart-pounding 89-85 victory, their fourth straight win. Kevin Puryear, in a month-long funk from 3-point range, delivered the game-winner from behind the arc with 10 seconds left in a wild game.

Mizzou improved to 3-0 in the annual “Rally for Rhyan” charity game, named in honor of 7-year-old Rhyan Loos, the daughter of former assistant coach Brad Loos.
