ATLANTA • Jimbo Fisher’s first opponent in the Southeastern Conference was neither Alabama or Louisiana State but a panel of three women from ASAP Sports, the unsung heroes of SEC Football Kickoff Media Days. They are the folks tasked with deciphering and transcribing every word from the coaches answering questions in the main interview room.
As Fisher made his SEC media days debut Monday at the College Football Hall of Fame, the first-year Texas A&M coach matched college football’s hardest working mandible against the stenographers’ unflappable keyboard-striking fingers.
Opening with an Aggie-approved “Howdy!” Fisher whipped through his snappy 479-word opening statement with, naturally, SEC speed.
