COLUMBIA, Mo. — The Southeastern Conference sure knows how to throw an anniversary party. Ten years ago Saturday the SEC officially welcomed Missouri as its 14th member institution. Two division titles and two head-coaching searches later, the Tigers’ football program gets to celebrate its SEC anniversary at one of the conference’s more historic venues — and a date with the No. 1 team in college football.
The Tigers (4-4, 1-3 SEC), stuck at .500 not only this season but since the day Gary Pinkel stopped coaching in 2015, visit Georgia’s Sanford Stadium in the role of extreme underdog.
