COLUMBIA, Mo. — Missouri didn’t need much time to diagnose what went wrong in its first loss of the season, Wednesday against No. 7 Tennessee.
That’s good because the No. 12 Tigers didn’t have much time before their next challenge, Saturday’s visit to unbeaten Arkansas, an 11 a.m. national telecast on CBS.
Mizzou fell behind in Wednesday’s 73-53 loss before the Mizzou Arena crowd settled into their socially distanced seats, trailing 23-4 after just nine minutes, and all but abandoned its offensive identity against Tennessee’s swarming defense.
After reviewing the game, Tigers coach Cuonzo Martin said it was “shocking” how poorly his team played on the offensive end, especially early.
