2018 SEC Softball Awards announced

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The Southeastern Conference announced its annual softball awards to cap the 2018 season and kick off the SEC Softball Tournament in Columbia, Mo., May 9-12. The All-SEC Teams consist of 29 total student-athletes, along with a 14-member All-Freshman team and an 11-member All-Defensive Team. No ties were broken.

Amanda Lorenz of Florida was named Player of the Year, while teammate Kelly Barnhill earned Pitcher of the Year honors. The Freshman of the Year award went to Mia Davidson of Mississippi State, and Katie Reed of Kentucky was chosen as the Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Lu Harris-Champer of Georgia was selected as Coach of the Year.
