With proposed changes to Chronic Wasting Disease management and hunting regulations in the works, Missouri Department of Conservation is wanting public feedback.
MDC is revising its CWD Surveillance and Management Plan for the disease along with proposing changes to deer hunting regulations. The comment period is now through Aug. 8.
The proposed regulation changes for the 2023 deer hunting season include:
Across the state
- Increasing the maximum number of firearms antlerless deer hunting permits that a hunter could fill from two to four in select counties,
- Creating a three-day early antlerless portion of firearms deer season in select counties that would begin on a Friday in early-to-mid October
