The St. Louis Cardinals announced that star catcher Yadier Molina will play at Hammons Field with the Springfield Cardinals on Thursday.
The first pitch for the game against the Arkansas Travelers is set for 7:10 p.m. with gates opening at 6:10 p.m.
Molina is currently on the injured list after straining his right thumb in mid-July. The nine-time All-Star missed 12 games in May and June with a similar injury and hasn't started a game since June 3.
The 37-year-old catcher is batting .261 this season with four home runs and 36 RBI.
