Nearly everyone in the room groaned and shook their heads when Missouri State football wasn't announced as one of the eight national seeds heading into the FCS Playoffs.
The Bears, who finished second in the Missouri Valley Football Conference, felt like they did enough to be considered one of the nation's best. They gathered Sunday morning on the upper floor of BigShots Golf to watch the FCS Selection Show.
But it didn't take too long for Missouri State to see its name flash across the screen. When the Bears were announced as the team that would host UT-Martin, the room erupted in cheers.
