For just over a week, Kaemyn Bekemeier waited anxiously to find out who the next head coach of the Missouri State Lady Bears would be.
Bekemeier, a Lady Bears commit, saw the program change when Amaka Agugua-Hamilton left the program to become the head coach at Virginia.
Republic's record-setting junior guard was constantly asked by teachers, friends and teammates what she would do. Would she follow Coach Mox to Virginia? Would she re-open her recruitment?
But throughout it all, Bekemeier remained confident and didn't waver. Even when the new Virginia coaching staff reached out, they knew how important it was to her that she had family close by.
