Missouri State introduced Beth Cunningham as the ninth women's basketball coach in program history on Thursday morning inside the Plaster Student Union Ballroom on campus.
MSU President Clif Smart and Athletics Director Kyle Moats stood in front of a crowded room that included the band to the side, a few Lady Bears sitting in the front rows, her four kids and husband and many notable faces in the Missouri State athletics community.
"When we began our search, we found that our No. 1 choice was who we needed to hire," Moats said. "She has all the characteristics that I like in a successful coach and teacher.
