Missouri State might own a share of the Missouri Valley Football Conference — but the opportunity to play in the postseason for the first time since 1990 is still not guaranteed.
First-year head coach Bobby Petrino said he hasn't spent too much time thinking about the postseason possibilities knowing that the Bears first had to beat Youngstown State. His explanation for why the Bears should get in was simple.
"5-1 in the toughest conference in the country," Petrino said. "That's about all I'll say, but we'll see what happens."
The Bears will need an at-large bid into the postseason field after North Dakota State beat Northern Iowa 23-20 on Saturday evening.
