Missouri State football concluded its final scrimmage of the spring on Friday afternoon which featured the growth in the Bears' running game in addition to individual players all over the field.
Third-year head coach Bobby Petrino said afterward that he believes the offense is further along than it has been in years past because of the run game. This is also the first normal spring practice schedule he's had since arriving in Springfield.
The offense wasn't the only thing that stood out to the coach. He also liked the speed the defense played with when pursuing ball carriers while noting the unit's growth throughout the spring period.
