After losing a pair of all-conference-level defensive backs and needing to replace three starters, Missouri State's competition in the secondary will be its most important position battle on the defense.
"That's probably the toughest battle on the team," defensive coordinator L.D. Scott said.
Missouri State lost the likes of All-American corner Montrae Braswell along with standout safeties Kyriq McDonald and Dillon Brooks. Different players were in and out of the second corner spot last season while none could establish themselves as the unquestioned starter.
A lot has yet to be determined at the vacant cornerback spots but the Bears seem to be settled in on who their starting safeties are going to be.
